iTunes Music Store offers Final Fantasy soundtracks

Videogames are a huge business. Halo 2 made over $100 million on its first day of release alone (well, $50 a pop is more than a $10 movie ticket, but who’s looking at that?). Final Fantasy has been one of the most successful game franchises ever. The iTunes Music Store started offering 15 Final Fantasy soundtracks on Tuesday. From the archaic 8-bit sounds of the original Nintendo Entertainment System to the emotional full orchestral score of Final Fantasy X, these soundtracks show the progression of music in videogames like no other compliation can.

Composer Nobuo Uematsu’s music has graced the games from 1987 to the present. Anyone who’s played videogames knows the Victory Fanfare of the Final Fantasy series.
